Dissolve

The “Dissolve” series superimposes photos I took while confronting debilitating chronic illness with self portraits made in the ocean, three years after emergency life saving surgery.

The sea has always been a great equalizer, cleanser, and healer. It dissolves life’s troubles, erases physical deformity, and brings me into a present state of wholeness. These images are deep with personal history, meaning, and a hope that beauty can be found in the the pain of the past.
